The Ubud Monkey Forest is a nature reserve and Hindu temple complex in Ubud, Bali, Indonesia. Its official name is the Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary.

Padang Padang, a delightful resort situated in the west of the peninsula of Kuta Seletan, is one of the most sought after by surfers in search of big waves. At the top of the cliff, before the descent to the beach, you will find the wonderful Hindu temple: here the monkeys in semi-wild state have chosen the temple and the surrounding forest as their home.

$There are more than 1,000 monkeys in the monkey forest. \nThey are mischievous. They will jump on your shoulders or might steal your water and food. \nSome sleep on banyan trees or in the middle of the path surrounded by all the moss covered statues in the jungle.\nThis monkey species is called Balinese long-tailed macaque. When I went there, most monkeys were grooming. Monkeys are sacred for Balinese people.$
