![The co-cathedral of San Bartolomeo is the main place of Catholic worship in Boiano, co-cathedral of the archdiocese of Campobasso-Boiano. The cathedral has very ancient origins, Bojano was already defined as diocesan seat in 501 AD, the bishop was a certain Lorenzo, the first news about the church dates back to 1073 [1], when Rodolfo De Moulins count of Bojano restored the cathedral. The apse of the crypt during the restorations of 1996, shows Romanesque elements, to be hypothesized therefore that it dates back to the eleventh century. In 1117 it suffered damage from an earthquake, in 1215 the cathedral was re-consecrated by the bishop Poliziano, in 1239 the ogival portal was built, at the behest of bishop Giovanni, as evidenced by the inscription. The architectural evidence is clearly visible in the south east wall, with the walled portal and the central oculus.
