Linguistically Ngas belongs to the Afro asiantic class called the Chadic group of languages. The Ngas people are hardworkng, industrious, selfless, trusted, reliable, and dependable people, and have at one point or other made their mark in different fields of human endeavors.

The festival showcases different aspects of the cultural heritage of the Berom people such as music, dance, clothing, costumes, artifacts, arts and crafts, folklore, royalty, traditional tools and technology, food, and herbs among others. The festival represents and conveyed gratitude to God Almighty for bountiful harvests as well as prayer offerings for good and sufficient rainfall for the next farming season.
